The 101,000-square-foot ES-23 Elementary School is a pioneering prototype for Loudoun County Public Schools, designed to support next-generation learning and sustainability. As Project Architect, I was a key member of the design and construction, coordinating all structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems from concept to completion.
The school’s design fosters project-based learning with grade-specific pods, each featuring collaboration spaces that can be individually secured for enhanced safety. Sustainability was a key focus, with the project meeting VA-CHPS and Energy Star standards, achieving a 65.5% reduction in carbon footprint through innovative design decisions. During construction, I conducted regular site visits to ensure the project aligned with design intent, resolve on-site issues, and monitor progress.
